About University School
Founded in 1890, University School is a nationally recognized all-boys college preparatory school serving 850 students. We are located on two campuses in Ohio's Greater Cleveland area. Our Shaker Heights Campus is for boys Jr. K - Grade 8, and six miles away is our Hunting Valley Campus for boys Grades 9-12.
Our faculty are invested in every boy's interests and abilities, his mental and emotional health, as well as his academic performance. We believe that when a boy is encouraged in a caring environment, there are no limits to what he can do. To help support these meaningful connections, we maintain a 7:1 student-to-faculty ratio.
We take pride in our accomplished teachers of diverse backgrounds and experiences, with 77% holding advanced degrees. In 2026-2027, the average tenure of a faculty member at US is 10 years.
